Former Bitwise Executive Jeff Park Joins Anthony Pompliano’s Procap as CIO
Procap was formed in June when it entered into a business combination with a Nasdaq special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) called Columbus Circle Capital Corporation.
Anthony Pompliano’s Procap Taps Bitwise Alum Jeff Park as New CIO
Self-styled investor and crypto entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano pulled off a $750 million raise in late June for his new bitcoin treasury firm Procap BTC, LLC. And now, he’s managed to poach Jeffrey Park from crypto investment firm Bitwise. Park, who was head of alpha strategies at Bitwise, will now become Procap’s chief investment officer (CIO).
The Stanford University Economics graduate began his career as a derivatives trader at Morgan Stanley in 2008. He later transitioned to Corbin Capital Partners, a New York-based hedge fund firm, where he worked on research, portfolio management, and digital assets.
After nearly a decade at Corbin, where he became a partner, Park landed the head of alpha strategies role at Bitwise, putting him at the center of crypto asset management. That experience is likely what caught Pompliano’s attention, leading to Monday’s announcement.
“I am excited to announce Jeff Park has joined me at Procap BTC, LLC as Partner and Chief Investment Officer,” Pompliano wrote. “Find the best people and convince them to join you. It is really that simple.”
There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between Procap and Bitwise, at least on the surface. Pompliano went on to post a message on X praising Park’s former employer. “I have been an investor in Bitwise for years,” Pompliano explained. “I would never bet against Hunter Horsley, Teddy Fusaro, Matt Hougan, and team.” Horsley, Fusaro, and Hougan are Bitwise’s CEO, president, and CIO, respectively.
