The decision regarding the staking feature application for the currently trading Invesco Galaxy Spot Ethereum ETF has been postponed.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision regarding the addition of a staking feature to the Invesco Galaxy Spot Ethereum ETF. According to the official filing dated July 30, 2025, the SEC has extended the evaluation period for the application submitted by the 🍀Exchange on June 9.
🍀 The Exchange had proposed a rule change to grant staking authority for the Ethereum ETF product. The proposal was reorganized with Amendment No. 1 presented on June 23 and made public in the Federal Register on June 27.
Typically, the SEC is expected to make a decision within 45 days for such regulatory changes. This period would have expired on August 11, 2025. However, the SEC extended the timeline to more comprehensively evaluate the content of the proposal and its potential impacts, setting the final decision date as September 25, 2025.
The commission stated that new financial applications such as staking are important in terms of investor safety, market stability, and the regulatory framework, and indicated that additional time is needed.
