💦Relying on material things for enjoyment is like taking drugs; it comes with three major side effects.

Understanding: The first one will make you addicted, which will make a person become more and more greedy, and more and more lazy;

This enjoyment of the second substance can only be temporary, not eternal;

The third point is that there are significant side effects, which is the excessive pursuit of material enjoyment. It completely triggers and amplifies the darker side of human nature, leading to vanity, comparison, and increasing laziness. Thus, many people find that after becoming materially affluent, they do not ascend to a spiritual level and may fall into a cycle of indulgence, gambling, and destruction of themselves and their families.

Material things themselves are not wrong; they are here to enhance our quality of life. However, a person should not be obsessed with the pursuit and enjoyment of material things throughout their life. They should strive to realize their own value and contribute to society, finding enjoyment on a spiritual level, which is what we often refer to as "virtue."

If you have not made progress in this regard, it means that your virtue does not match your position. This tells us that the material possessions a person has should correspond to their contributions to society. Otherwise, you will not be able to enjoy these possessions and instead may ruin yourself. Logically speaking, those who possess more wealth should help more people.
