With the advent of the AI chatbot ChatGPT at the end of last year, generative AI (AIGC) has attracted global attention.

Generative AI can create content and generate images, text, music, and even code and video through algorithms. Its powerful functions have brought infinite possibilities to all walks of life and may promote innovation in many fields.

UBS analyst Michael Briest quoted a report from Gartner, the world's authoritative IT research and consulting organization, saying that in the next few years, generative AI will have a significant impact on "** pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, media, Architecture, interior design, engineering, automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, electronics and energy industries**" have a huge impact.

According to Briest, a Gartner report states that "generative AI will impact the areas of marketing, design, corporate communications, training and software engineering by enhancing support processes across organizations."

**He also said that Gartner has made five bold predictions about how AI will accelerate enterprise innovation between now and 2027. **These predictions are as follows:

  1. By 2025, more than 30% of new drugs and new materials will be systematically discovered through generative AI technology;

  2. By 2025, the use of synthetic data will reduce the amount of real data needed for machine learning by 70%;

  3. By 2025, 30% of outbound marketing messages for large organizations will be generated by AI, up from less than 2% in 2022.

The UBS analyst also noted that it noted that Salesforce recently released Einstein PT, which can send personalized emails to customers on behalf of salespeople, generate specific query responses on behalf of customer service professionals, and provide marketers with targeted content.

  1. By 2027, nearly 15% of new applications will be automatically generated by AI without human involvement, up from 0% today.

  2. By 2026, more than 100 million people will work together with robot colleagues and make their own contributions.

Will have a significant impact on the labor market

At the same time, this accelerated innovation could also lead to massive job losses.

In UBS’s view, generative AI could have as big an impact on the labor market as earlier innovations in fields such as printing, electricity or railroads.

A new study published by Goldman Sachs in March this year also showed that the latest breakthroughs in generative artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT are expected to bring major disruptions to the global labor market. It is estimated that 300 million jobs worldwide will be replaced by generative AI. Lawyers and administrators will be the jobs most likely to be cut.

Last month, cognitive scientist and SingularityNET founder and CEO Ben Goertzel made an even more startling statement. According to the AI expert, artificial intelligence may replace 80% of human jobs in the next few years.
